It was my first time up to sky tavern ski, I've always driven by it when going to lake Tahoe but never to actually visit the ski resort. It was nice. The staff and owners of the place so they're best to make sure that all parents put in some volunteer hours each day the children attend and that's how they keep it up and running. I didn't get to ski this time around since I thought it wasn't a good idea for me to start at the age of 35 but the instructors explained that they would give me my first lesson so I can begin teaching level one to others afterwards! I'm excited! Next weekend I'm bringing some ski's and I'm going to learn! My son who snowboards, also had the benefit of meeting an Olympic champion Lane Spina. They rode up the chair lift together and hit the snow down a mountain together! The chain then signed my son's helmet and took a picture with him. We're excited to go back in 2 days.

Went for the Party in the Sky bike riding event and absolutely loved getting to check out Sky Tavern's mountain biking scene. Super family-friendly and welcoming to riders of all ages and skill sets. There is a pump track that toddlers to teens were happy to utilize, and beautiful trails trails for all the big kids (aka adults).

I grew up skiing at Sky Tavern, now my son and I skied together up at Sky Tavern. He takes classes and I assist in teaching classes! All the certified instructors and people running that place are amazing if you need extra help they will take you out and teach you what you need to know! It's all about the kids and it's all about teaching the parents how to teach the kids!

Mountain Bike paradise. Trails are well maintained. They host demo days here, give them an ID and they give you a $10,000 bike to ride down a black diamond trail.

We've been a part of sky tavern for 3 years. It is worth every penny and more! Our 5 year old has had great parent instructors, and loves skiing, thanks to Sky Tavern. I had a knee injury and wasn't able to take her up on the mountain as much as I had hoped. I'm so grateful she's still been able to learn, love and grow doing something our entire family loves.

Such a fun, small ski resort with some of the friendliest people working there. The perfect place to learn how to ski and is incredibly ADA accessible. Great place to hangout during the summer with the meadow and mountain biking trails

Sky Tavern is an amazing program designed for parents who want to have time with family and friends in a safe, family-friendly environment. Parents volunteer two hours of their time to help keep the cost of the program as a reasonable, affordable opportunity for the community. The ski and snowboard clinics are taught by fully certified instructors who share their passion for the slopes. Adult lessons are offered twice a day each weekend as a part of the program, which are included as part of volunteering. There are women's clinics taught by women for women who want ski or snowboard. First-time or need to improve their skills. There is a Sky Kids offering for the younger generation. 4 to 6 years of age. Parents do not teach their own children. There is a Grommets group for the young snowboard members. There are so many parents watching over the children that it is a safe place. The ski race program is outstanding for those youngsters who have the skills and ability to ski through gates and improve. There is also an adaptive program for those who have challenged abilities. The teachers are so patient and understanding with the members. There is ski and snowboard rental, repair, and maintenance on-site, so the equipment is available for members. The children have such a fun time, meeting new friends and learning lifetime skills. Adults also enjoy and support Sky Tavern. Some for decades and generations. This program has been operating since 1948 , and it continues to grow. Snowmaking has been added, which improves the start date. The grooming is excellent for a small resort. And the Ski Patrol is outstanding, excellent care if you require it. It is truly an amazing experience for families to enjoy precious time with each other, sharing their experiences and accomplishments. The special events put on during the program are wonderful. Freestyle teams have competitions. There are kids' races, adults crazy races, and a fun weekend with a pond skim. It's absolutely hilarious to watch!!! If you live in Northern Nevada or Northern California, it is available to you at an affordable rate. Just do it!
